The perfect choice to maximise archival qualities, quality and price.

The Lustre Standard Photographic Prints are printed on Hahnemühle Photo Luster paper, a highly regarded media within the photographic world, with only slightly less archival longevity than our world class Lustre Premium Photo Rag Pearl paper.

The lustre surface of the print avoids a high gloss reflection, and the bright white paper allows the colours and blacks to shine. The tones and colours all render perfectly, giving a uniquely traditional feel to the images.

These lustre prints, along with all Hahnemühle papers, would be expected to last decades without fading or losing their original colours.

Choose Lustre Standard Photographic Prints if you prefer a non-matt, pearl effect appearance to your photography, without too much in the way of reflections. These are wonderful premium weight photos, favoured by professional photographers looking for a bright white paper, whilst avoiding too many reflections.

  • Hahnemühle Photo Luster luxury paper
  • Lustre/Pearl surface
  • Heavyweight 290gsm
  • Smooth bright white paper
  • A lifespan of decades without fading
  • Hand printed to premium standards
  • Printed with a small white border
  • The perfect standard for professional prints

When sending your images, please leave a note at checkout if you would like us to prepare your image for printing (e.g. convert a colour image to black and white, with or without borders, or make any adjustments). If you are happy with your image, then we will inspect it, and prepare it for print 'as is'.

If you prefer an alternative Hahnemühle paper, please feel free to get in touch, as we stock a large number of alternative papers.

Beautiful Gicleé Prints

We print photographs to the highest quality using pigment inks on archival, gallery standard Hahnemühle papers, designed to last for generations.

We also include complimentary retouching of minor adjustments, hand printing, and a hand written note confirming prints were produced at Greyscales.

Printing Questions

Can you explain the border options?

Borders on your print will largely depend on whether you wish your image to be cropped to fit the paper, or do you want borders surrounding your uncropped image. The options are:

1.Full Image with Borders - your photograph will not be cropped, and is printed as large as possible on the paper, which may leave larger borders either at the top/bottom or sides (this is the default option).

2.Equal Borders on print - for this option, you want equal borders on each side, and your image needs to fit the remaining area - we may need to crop your image to achieve this.

3. No Borders - your photo may have to be cropped a little to ensure there are no borders on your size of paper. Ideally, if you can crop your image before uploading it, we can prevent this.

What file formats do you prefer?

  • Either JPEG (at high quality) or TIFF.
  • Colour profiles: AdobeRGB, or sRGB.
  • Ideally At 300ppi (pixels per inch/dots per inch)

How large should my file be?

In all cases, please send the largest file you have. This helps not just with printing, but with any retouching that you require. If you are confident editing images, it can help to crop them to the correct size for printing (but don't worry too much).

Can you provide customs sizes?

Yes. Please let us know the size you require and we can send you a price for payment online.

What is a gicleé print?

Gicleé prints are premium quality photographic prints, produced to the highest standards expected by photographers, collectors and galleries, using pigment inks and archival papers.

How long is printing and despatch?

Turnaround is typically a couple of days, as all prints are produced after manually checking and preparing images. You should receive them several days after that.

Will my print last a lifetime?

When using our archival pigment inks, and gallery certified papers, you can expect 200+ years before any fading takes place, if stored correctly.

Do you frame prints?

As experts in printing, we concentrate on producing perfect prints. As such, we don't presently offer a framing service.
